About the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration
In 2008, Congress passed a law authorizing the Department of Defense to organize, support, and facilitate programs all across America to assist a grateful Nation in thanking and honoring our Vietnam Veterans and their families by commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. By presidential proclamation on May 12, 2012, the Commemoration period extends from Memorial Day 2012 through Veterans Day 2025.
