Washtenaw County Veterans Treatment Court Graduation

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Nine Veterans graduated from the Washtenaw County Veterans Treatment Court on Wednesday, June 18, after a year-long program. VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System has a Veteran Justice Outreach Coordinator embedded in the court to provide for the case management needs of the Veterans to include healthcare, benefits, employment, education, and other needs. The purpose of the Veterans Justice Outreach Program is to avoid the unneccessary criminalization of mental illness and extended incarceration among Veterans by ensuring that eligible justice-involved Veterans have timely access to VHA services as clinically indicated.
