We are excited to announce that the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) recently launched the “Faces of Heroes” Virtual Wall. Faces of Heroes is an online collection of Veteran photographs. The website, www.AnnArborFacesOfHeroes.org, currently shows 33 pictures of Veterans, and has the capacity to hold an unlimited amount of photographs. Starting November 11th, the “Faces of Heroes” display will have a touch screen kiosk in the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center (VAAMC) displaying Veteran’s pictures on large monitors.
“‘Faces of Heroes’ is a way to connect our Veterans, staff, volunteers and community together in an effort to honor America’s Veterans,” said Derek D. Atkinson, VAAAHS Public Affairs Officer. “We encourage all interested Veterans and family members to participate in this Veteran-centered project.”
Veterans and their immediate family members can submit pictures to the virtual display by uploading them on the website, or bring a physical picture to the VAAAHS main desk if assistance is needed. Picture submissions must be accompanied by the Veteran’s name, decade, and branch of service.
